大家好，欢迎收听本期的柠檬电台，我是主播Joe.

And for today’s program I’m going to talk about the the outbreaks of the coronavirus, but before we start we’ve got a surprise for you. Our program has been with you guys for a long time. But today will be a special one, because we invite a guest here. Her name is Chariz.

我们今天的节目将要谈及的就是最近新冠病毒的爆发，我们的节目已经陪伴了大家很久了，但今天在开始之前我们为大家准备了一个惊喜，我们这期节目请来了一位嘉宾--Chariz.

Well, hello,Joe. Thank you so much for having me today. Hello everyone. My name is Chariz, and I am also a freshman of English major of ZBTI.

你好，Joe，谢谢今天邀请我来。大家好，我的名字是chariz，我也是一名浙工商，英语专业的大一新人。

Joe

OK, let’s back to the main part. I believe most of you must think this vocation is such a long and boring one, so do I, all I can do is just lying on my bed and playing on the phone. But I still pay close attention to the situation of coronavirus. And out my expectation, domestic situation has become relatively stable and the imported cases are now the major concern. It seems that we have already got the domestic epidemic under control but the outbreak of coronavirus abroad seems to be getting out of hand which was surprisingly unexpected. All of the achievements we’ve got should be attributed to the timely and effective measures the government made and the active cooperation we did. But foremost, it was the heroic dedication the doctors and nurses made led to a rapid change. Words fail me to convey my sincere and heartfelt gratitude towards those “white angles” Although I also pay much attention to the situation abroad, I still know little about that , can you share some information with us, Chariz?

好的，让我们回到正题。我相信大家一定和我一样都觉得这是一个又长又无聊的假期，我感觉能做的事只剩下瘫在床上玩手机。而在休息之余，我对于新冠肺炎的情况也是十分关心。出乎我意料的是，国内的疫情已经趋于稳定，国外的疫情却超出了控制，而入境的人成为了最令人担忧的因素。我们在国内取得巨大成就都要归功于政府防疫措施的及时以及我们大部分人的配合，最重要的当然是医生与护士们的无私奉献，语言已经无法描述我对于这些白衣天使的尊敬。虽然我对国外的信息也密切关注，但我还是对于国外的疫情情况知之甚少，Chariz你能告诉我们一些国外的情况吗？

Chariz

Okay, for the situation of aboard epidemic. First of all, the statistics shows the cases caused by this pandemic globally, up to Mar. 23th, there are over 265,000 people who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. So sadly the situation aboard has become unimaginable serious compared with its in China. Especially for Italy and America, these two countries now having the highest number of infections outside of China. However, while the US administration has been busy trying to convince anyone who will listen that China is to blame for, the Italy is trying to take some prevention measures such as quarantine to cutting of the epidemic’s transmission route like other countries . And keeping blame China like US is doing are not going to alter the situation, nor let it shrug off its responsibility for the mess. The only key to triumph over this adversity is to strengthen international cooperation on this epidemic control and China will also continue to provide assistance within our ability to countries affected by the epidemic.

好的，关于国外疫情的情况。首先，统计数据显示，截至3月23日，全球共有超过26.5万人的新型冠状病毒检测呈阳性。所以令人伤心的是，与中国的情况相比，国外的情况严重得难以想象。特别是意大利和美国，这两个国家现在是中国以外感染人数最多的国家。然而，当美国政府忙着说服所有愿意听的人相信中国是罪魁祸首时，意大利正像其他国家一样试图采取一些预防措施，如隔离，以切断疫情的传播途径。像美国这样继续指责中国不会改变现状，也不会让它摆脱对这场混乱的责任。克服这一困难的唯一关键是加强国际合作，中国也将继续向疫区国家提供力所能及的援助。

Now I get the reason why the imported cases are the major concern. And I was informed that a woman who returned from abroad to Beijing refused to abide by quarantine rules and didn’t obey it until the police arrived and gave her a warning. But the good news is that she was fired and asked to leave China with a specified period of time.

现在我知道为什么入境的人是最令人担忧的因素了，而且我还听说有一个从海外回到北京的女子拒绝履行14天隔离的安排直到警察到来并警告她。不过大快人心的是她在不久后就被就职的公司开除并且被要求限时离境。

Chariz

That’s quite unbelievable and I also heard a news which surprised me a lot. recently, a woman in Pudong, Shanghai, insisted on drinking mineral water during her quarantine, and had a dispute with the staff. it is reported that the living needs is adequately supported in the quarantine area. For this kind of cases, the police had also pointed out seriously the quarantine area is not a hotel, this is not a place for travel. So stop being selfish and using impractical standards for the life in the quarantine areas.

这太不可思议了，我也听到了一则让我很吃惊的新闻。最近，上海浦东的一位女士在隔离期间坚持要喝矿泉水，还和工作人员发生了争执。据报道，隔离区的生活需求得到了充分的支持。对于这类案件，警方也曾严肃指出，隔离区不是酒店，这里不是旅游的地方。所以，不要再自私了，不要再用不切实际的标准来衡量检疫地区的生活。

Joe

I cannot understand her motive for doing this. Were I her, I would keep strictly within the limits just as what I am doing right now. And we need to realize that only gathering the efforts of whole country can we overcome this crisis.

我根本无法想象出这些人的做事的理由，如果我是她我肯定就像我现在好好待在家里一样严格遵守要求，我们一定要意识到只有团结全国人民的力量，我们才能成功的渡过这次疫情。

Chariz

Yes, that’s definitely true. This kind of similar news have already ignited the net-users’ indignation. Human rights is not equal to privilege, returnning to normal life need the full understanding and cooperation with the epidemic prevention workers. And just as Joe mentioned the current situation has been stable but China is still faced with new situations especially the global spread of the virus as well as its negative impact on the word economy. So working resumption at home seems to become the most wise choice to minimized the epidemic’s impact.

这种类似的消息已经点燃了网络用户的愤怒。人权不等于特权，回归正常生活需要与防疫工作者的充分理解与配合。正如Joe提到的，目前的形势已经稳定，但中国仍然面临着新的形势，特别是病毒的全球传播及其对经济的负面影响。因此，在国内恢复工作似乎成为最明智的选择，以最小化的减少疫情的影响。

After discussing such a severe situation, let’s get back to the things related to ourselves. Have you realized that due to the coronavirus, we are going to have the cet4 and cet6 exams soon after the beginning of school. So in order to make full preparation for the coming exams, we cannot emphasize the significance of self-discipline too much. Especially now, when the situation of coronavirus is so severe that we have to stay at home. But our attitude towards study should not be slack no matter where the place we are . From my perspective, this long vocation is a good opportunity to improve ourselves and widen the gap with others. I think none of us would be willing to be left behind, so just catch the chance and move on.

在我们讨论过国内外的疫情形势之后，让我们回到与我们相关的事吧。同学们，你们是否意识因为疫情的原因，在我们返校开学不久后就要迎来四六级考试了。为了做好充分的准备，自觉学习是我们不可或缺的，我们不能因为在疫情情况下只能在家学习懈怠了。我相信没有人会心甘情愿被别人落下，那么就请好好抓住这个提高自己的机会吧。

Yes，despite with the China’s outstanding performance in epidemic, prevention and control work should be still firmly implemented to avoid the reversal of China’s hard-won improving epidemic situation. Especially Hubei properties and Wuhan should remain consistent and cautions.

是的，尽管中国在疫情方面表现突出，但仍要坚决做好防控工作，避免中国来之不易的疫情好转局面出现逆转。特别是湖北和武汉要保持一致和谨慎。

Joe

Yeah,we shouldn’t slack off in the prevention of the coronavirus any way. And just as Winston Churchill once said: “We shall never surrender!” No matter what we are facing, we should hold the belief that we will win together in the end. And we’ll definitely win this time!

就如Chariz所说，我们对于疫情的防控绝对不能松懈，就如丘吉尔说过：“我们不会投降！”不论我们面临着什么困难，我们都要有必胜的信念，我们必定会战胜这次疫情！
